Most lawns in Canton are dealing with compacted soil - and the frustrating part is you can't even see it. The grass looks fine on the surface, but underneath, the roots are struggling to get the air, water, and nutrients they need to really grow. That's exactly the problem core aeration solves.

Here's what we were working with on this one. The soil cores we pulled tell the whole story - dense, packed Georgia clay that wasn't letting much of anything through. When you see cores that thick and dark, you know the lawn has been starved of airflow for a while. That's not a knock on the homeowner - it's just what happens naturally over time, especially with clay-heavy soil.

What we do is pull those plugs completely out of the ground, leaving behind open channels all across the lawn. Those holes give the root system direct access to oxygen, water, and fertilizer. Instead of everything pooling at the surface or running off, it gets down where it counts. The difference in how a lawn responds after a good aeration pass is honestly pretty significant.

We cover the whole yard - no skipped sections, no shortcuts. You can see from the spread of cores across the turf that we ran consistent passes throughout. That uniform coverage is what makes the difference between a lawn that looks slightly better and one that actually starts performing the way it should. Patchy aeration is almost worse than none at all.

Compacted soil is one of the most common reasons lawns plateau - they get mowed and watered but never seem to get that thick, healthy look. Our aeration services are built around fixing that root cause, not just treating the surface. If your yard has been stuck in a rut, this is usually the first place to start.
